- Check out the just-updated blog of one of my favorite bands, Grizzly Bear, which currently has a bunch of files up of lead singer Ed Droste’s recent favorite songs. Notice that among the list is some classical music, a little Benjamin Britten and some stuff by the very young (my age) composer Nico Muhly. See it here!
- One more plug for my own concert with the Aspen Chamber Symphony, which is finally online, at medici.tv. Marin Alsop conducts, we play a piece by Obie alum Christopher Rouse and Brahms 3 too, and if you watch closely during the opening of the fourth movement of the Brahms, you might just see a little close-up and a wink, featuring yours truly!
- Also not to be missed on medici is a short video about the trombone octet concert at the top of Aspen Mountain. Click Aspen, Behind the Scenes, Something about Mountains, and prepare yourself to be amazed!
- Lastly, and randomly, two newish commericals featuring some interesting music….
- RJD2’s “Ghostwriter” -for Wells Fargo
- LCD Soundsystem – for Grand Theft Auto I
